sharp(ie) goodbye
183:365
We took Zoe's Crayola markers and my Sharpies to the house yesterday to say goodbye. We wrote on the walls, identifying rooms and memory spots, drew pictures, and thought about what it was like to live there. It was very therapeutic.
In the hallway, on the wall you see as you enter the front door, I scrawled "Goodbye House!" In tiny print below, my daughter wrote "I love you House."
I'm okay until I see shit like that. Then I pretty much lose it and second guess everything. It's a little late for that, seeing as how the entire kitchen has been ripped out, along with a bunch of carpet, a toilet, all doorknobs and various other objects that make a house inhabitable.
Deep breath.
Here we go.
