happy

197:365

Found a little happiness on my walk this morning. And then found more throughout the day.

We were asked to take the gifts up at Mass this morning, which thrills the heck out of Zozer. One of her best buddies sat in our pew. Caught up with friends after. Talked to a young deacon we watched grow up in our parish, and wished him well as he returns to Rome to finish his studies. (And he told us "Bon voyage!" in Italian!)

Packed up child and cats and headed to Dad's for an awesome day of family fun. Yummy lunch, swimming, and catching up with aunt, uncle and cousins.

Met with our GC to talk about moving forward on the house, including mitigation for the plastic soil we discovered. By the time we return in two weeks we're likely to not only have a foundation, he may have even started framing.

Empty nesters tonight, as 3/5 of the creatures who normally live with us have started their vacation. It's weird. And just slightly glorious.

I painted my nails Jet Stream Blue Metallic to match the Corvette. Matching nails to our cars seems to be what all the ladies are doing for our big trip out west. It's completely goofy and totally fun. I'm just glad we have a great color. I like the yellow Vettes, but I don't want to paint my nails yellow.

Tomorrow will be a crazy day trying to wrap up loose ends before we go, that manic period that makes one wonder if vacation is worth it. I'm gonna go ahead and say it is.

'Cause today I'm feelin' happy.
